I am halfway through my trip to San Francisco and I thought this would be a good time to share a few of the bright colors from pride. The pride parade and village were vibrant and upbeat. A cold, foggy morning cleared up into a warm and sunny afternoon just as Dykes on Bikes opened the parade. Of course, the reason pride is so bright is because of all of the individuals who choose to rep the rainbow. Pictured below are just a few stand-out accessories from the day.
A peek into my packing process for San Francisco. A regret, now that I’m here: pack sweatpants and a fleece. Cali can actually be quite cold.
A light, summer dress for long walks on warm days.
Interchangable combinations of t-shirts and shorts to wear to museums, the zoo, and on hikes.
My special kaftan for the beach or the theater.
My rainbow tie-dye for Pride!
A summer suit. (I have since learned that a wetsuit would be more practical in the chilly SF waters!)
And of course, my perfect sandals.
I am so excited to be flying out to San Francisco today! I have never been to California, and I have know idea what to really expect. I know it will be similar but different from my Northwest and Southwest encounters… more ocean, mostly. Here are some of the things I am looking forward to seeing!
-drive across the Golden Gate Bridge
-shop (browse, really) at the General Store
-eat seafood and avocado
-visit the Muir Woods!
-have a tasting at a California winery
-wander around. get lost.
-hear live music
-visit some of the sites, recording studios frequented by the likes of Janis Joplin
-see the “Full House” house
-swim in the Pacific Ocean! I’ve never even SEEN the Pacific Ocean!!!
Here’s to new adventures!
